Over the morning I had many moments of , "Ah ha". Teaching your class how to research is such an important aspect of their learning and we really tend to gloss over that in the lower grades. I am excited about the idea of really showing and exploring research with the class. Using google to look at one perspective at a time is something I will start doing. I can not wait to use this during our Units of Learning. Also, exploring which information is "True" and relevant vs. what information is not good to use and well as showing the kids how to identify advertisements. All these are skills that we take for granted and assume the kids all ready know. Upon reflection I know this is something that I need expose the students to much more. The difficulty is not having a 1:1 school. Using eight devises for 17 students is challenging.
A few other phrases and questions that have stuck with me throughout the morning; How do we help kids to create and not just consume? How can I as an educator create collaboration and communication between time and space? How we do we create many opportunities to be problem finders? Lots of interesting ideas to think about.
