I am still thinking about how we treat tweens and their phones.
I am struck by the thought that we are taking behaviour that is so natural and necessary, and actually shaming our teenagers for behaving in that way. We still have teachers that confiscate phones from our middle schoolers just because they are using them. I know that if they were presented with the information in the same way we heard it this morning, they would never take a 12 or 13 year old's phone away.
It's really important for teachers to understand that their phones are actually their connection to their friends.
